Video Director

Job Summary:

Directors have the important job of leading the vision and execution of our projects from start to finish. It’s a director’s job to hear a client’s goal, develop a creative vision, and bring it to life through our lens, all with the high standard of creative excellence that Diamond View is known for.

Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of a project; have a creative vision that is clearly developed through the creative/directors' treatments, pitch decks, and moodboards.

  • Present the creative vision to internal stakeholders and clients/agencies.

  • Take creative through various stages of development including scripting, storyboarding, pre-visualization, and shot lists.

  • Build client relationships with a deep understanding of clients, their business needs, and our role in their success.

  • Pre-production: Lead the creative decision-making on all details of the project based on the vision that has been established.

  • Pre-production: Collaborate with other team members such as Producer, Director of Photography, Art Director and other department leads to coordinate shoot logistics and shot lists.

  • Pre-production: Lead final pre-production meeting with the client/agency

  • On Set: Lead the entire production crew with all departments unified under the execution of the project’s vision.

  • On Set: Direct talent and provide a comfortable experience for optimal performances.

  • Post Production: Work with editors to ensure vision is properly executed throughout all deliverables.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • 5-7 years experience as a Video Director

  • High level of general knowledge in commercial video industry and creative process

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Ability to work within a budget

  • Strong leadership + communication skills

  • Strong time management + organizational skills

  • Ability to problem solve

  • Experience in script writing

  • Experience in development of creative treatments

  • High attention to detail

  • Strong creative vision with ability to communicate the vision to clients, production crew, and internal stakeholders

  • Experience in photoshop and InDesign a plus
