Check out our Director’s Cut for Orlando Pride’s kit launch!

Orlando Pride paid homage to a beautiful piece of Florida history with their kit design this year, drawing inspiration from the Highwaymen - a talented group of African-American painters active in Florida from the 1950s-1980s. Specifically, the design pays tribute to Mary Ann Carroll, the only female member of the group. In a time when African-American artists couldn't sell their work in galleries, the Highwaymen would sell their paintings door-to-door, often out of the trunks of their cars.

To showcase the determination and talent shared by Mary Ann Carroll and the Orlando Pride players, the kit reveal video highlights the connection between soccer as an art form and the players as artists.

Orlando Pride

This is a promotional video for Orlando Pride's new uniform kit. The kit was inspired by the Artemis space mission, which is sending the first woman to the moon. Artemis is also the god of the hunt in Greek mythology, so it's all very fitting!

I thought it was super cool to be a female director working with a female soccer team promoting a kit inspired by a badass Greek god and the first woman going to the moon. Women run the world!” - Director Vanessa Diaz

We shot this virtual production in an LED Volume. This allowed us to put the players in front of any background in real time. We used images from NASA to highlight the space theme of this concept. Such a cool experience and was a great opportunity.
